Sarah Robinson
Senior Expert

Sarah Robinson is a senior expert on gender-sensitive politics at EAF Berlin. In the “Action Program – Women in Politics!”, she advises regions on how to sustainably increase the share of women in local politics and dismantle structural barriers. In this program, she coordinates regional consulting and the program’s advisory board.

Sarah Robinson is also certified for gender audits and action plans in political parties by the OSCE/ODIHR and has previously worked on a toolkit regarding gender-sensitive parliaments at the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE). This enables her to advise parliamentary representatives and political parties on gender-sensitive parliaments, party structures and content. It also allows her to recommend measures for improvement according to international standards.

She is also involved in international cooperation and European projects.

Sarah Robinson has experience in the fields of politics, human rights, gender mainstreaming and gender-equitable societies. Before joining the EAF Berlin, she worked for the German Parliament and in international contexts at the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) in Lithuania as well as the offices of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Belgium.

Sarah Robinson completed her studies in International Relations (International Politics and Law) at the Technical University of Dresden and also studied abroad. Fostering the visibility of obstacles regarding the political and social participation of women and marginalized groups, as well as the contributions and concerns of these groups, is a core interest of her. She wrote each of her theses on political empowerment processes and the influence and participation of women’s (rights) groups in political system transition. A shorter version of her Master’s thesis was published in the US Georgetown Journal of International Law (GJIL).

In Berlin, Sarah Robinson is primarily involved in international human rights activism. She has served as vice chair of the board of the German chapter of Humanity in Action Deutschland e.V. from 2021 - 2023.
