Senior Expert

Laura Giardina works as a senior expert in the project alliance “Together Against Sexism”. Her tasks include project management, public relations and event organization, networking of alliance members and preparing publications.

The project is a cooperation between EAF Berlin and the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth under the patronage of the minister Lisa Paus. Based on the “Joint Declaration against Sexism and Sexual Harassment” published in 2021, the alliance works with around 400 cross-sector alliance partners* to structurally dismantle sexism and put measures in place to combat sexual harassment – in public spaces, at the workplace, and in cultural and media settings.

Laura Giardina has work experience in communications on the agency, NGO and corporate side. In 2018, she successfully completed a PR traineeship at a Berlin-based agency specializing in management consulting and communications, with a focus on communication with associations. During her studies, she worked for three years as a project manager for communication in an NGO in the field of development cooperation.

In 2017, she completed her Bachelor’s at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, where she studied Sociology and Public Law with a focus on social inequality and international law. During her studies, she was part of the founding group of the “Tübingen Human Rights Week”, which has continued every year since 2015. Her MA in sociology at the University of Potsdam, focused on qualitative social research and the sociology of families, gender, and the labor market. Her Master’s thesis empirically examined the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the work/life balance of employed single parents in Germany.
