Dr. Simone Rajilić works at EAF as a senior expert and advises organizations on diversity and equal opportunities. As a trainer, she gives workshops and lectures on unconscious bias and discrimination-sensitive language. She also helps implement mentoring and career-building programs in business and academia for EAF.
Simone Rajilić read Slavic Studies and Political Science in Frankfurt am Main, Zadar, Berlin and Potsdam, and has since worked as a researcher in the fields of linguistics, cultural studies and gender studies. She has conducted research on the links between language and discrimination and published work on feminist language practices, among other topics. In 2019, she gained a PhD in Slavic languages from Humboldt University in Berlin, with a thesis on conceptualizations of femininity.
From 2020 to 2023 she has been working to promote equal opportunities for educational success regardless of social background as the director of two mentoring projects for children and young people from Berlin’s Neukölln district.
Her work takes an intersectional perspective on discrimination. In addition to topics from gender research, her other areas of focus in the field of diversity include classism and racism.
