Rana Göroğlu is a senior expert and co-project leader, particularly in the project alliance “Together Against Sexism”, which combats sexism across sectors. Her work focuses on communication and data collection as well as network and project development. An important focus of her work is the intersection of inequality relations.

She has produced publications on migration and integration topics for institutions of historical and political education and provided training programs for press and public relations work.

From 2020 to 2022, she worked as a communications and projects officer at the MaLisa Foundation, where she accompanied studies on gender representations and other diversity factors in (audiovisual) media and co-initiated the first intersectional round-table and online guide on the subject of diversity in German media.

In 2008, she co-founded the association “Neue deutsche Medienmacher*innen”, which promotes diversity in the media. From 2012 to 2020, she played a key role in setting up and further developing the Mediendienst Integration service portal, first as editor and then as managing director and project coordinator. In 2017, she completed the LEAD Academy leadership program.

Rana Göroğlu studied history, politics and Turkish studies in Göttingen and Berlin. After spending time abroad in Turkey and the Netherlands, she completed her studies in 2002 with an MA in Euroculture at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. She then worked for a decade as a cross-media journalist and editor (for zitty, rbb, Radio Multikulti, ZDF and Berliner Zeitung, among others).
