We discussed this question with various stakeholders in the context of the Federal Government's current Gender Equality Report during a series of digital roundtables. The documentation for this event series is now available for download.

In June 2021, the Third Gender Equality Report of the Federal Government was published. Together with the Harriet Taylor Mill Institute and the Office of the Third Gender Equality Report , EAF Berlin hosted a digital event series on the topic with financial support from the BMFSFJ.

Five key focus areas

At a kick-off event, we worked with interested participants to determine which topics from the Third Gender Equality Report should be explored in greater depth. This resulted in five key focus areas:

  1. Non-discriminatory technology design
  2. Start-ups in the digital sector
  3. Platform economy
  4. Digital working world
  5. Digital violence

These were discussed at round tables, informed by insights from experts in academia, business, politics, and civil society. This allowed the findings of the gender equality report to be put into practice and linked with concrete questions and ideas.

Download the online documentation

The documentation now available captures the key messages and results of the event series. The online brochure, which is available for download, is intended as a catalyst for anyone working on gender-equitable digitalization from various backgrounds. "Our goal was to record what we developed together and make it publicly available. This gives various stakeholders the opportunity to build on it and further develop ideas, because we shape gender-equitable digitalization best when we work together," says EAF Associate and Project Manager Hanna Völkle.
