General description of the service
The website of EAF Berlin (European Academy for Women in Politics and Economy) presents an independent non-profit organization that has been working for diversity, equal opportunities and diversity in management positions at the interface of politics, business and science for over 25 years. The range of information includes practical training and mentoring programs (e.g. on inclusive leadership or unconscious bias), scientific research and studies on the representation of women, and comprehensive advice on organizational development. The focus is on topics such as promoting women in (local) politics, shaping a non-discriminatory working world and overcoming societal challenges such as sexism or digital justice in order to actively shape a democratic and diverse society.
Explanations of how to perform the service
The main purpose of the website is to serve as a central information and advice platform for promoting diversity and equal opportunities in management positions. It provides specific information on how organizations from politics and business can be made more diverse and inclusive through scientifically based studies, practical training (e.g. on unconscious thought patterns) and strategic advice.
Status of compliance with requirements
We are committed to digital accessibility and aim to design our website in such a way that it is fully accessible to all users. We are therefore continuously working to fully implement the requirements of the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) and the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSGV).
Our website implements the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG):
The website is partially barrier-free. The requirements of the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV) and the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) are largely met.
Optimized contrasts and visual design: We ensure sufficiently high color contrasts and a clear structure to ensure readability for all user groups.
Alternative texts for media: Images and graphic elements are backed with alt texts to make the content comprehensible even for people with visual disabilities (e.g. via screen reader).
Keyboard usability and structure: The navigation is logically structured and supports keyboard operation, which allows use without a mouse.
Document restriction: Currently, we cannot guarantee the full accessibility of PDF documents offered for download. However, we are constantly working to make these formats more accessible as well.
