Stand with Ukrainian Women: Newsletter 2

Our second special newsletter on Ukraine arrives at a time when the news from the country is devastating.

Reports are emerging from the suburbs of Kyiv, from which the Russian army has withdrawn, detailing horrific crimes and atrocities committed against the civilian population.

Now more than ever, it is incumbent upon all of us to do whatever is within our power and means to support the Ukrainian people in their fight for sovereignty, freedom, and democratic rights—politically, morally, militarily, and financially.

We remain in personal contact with our partners from the project "Together for Democracy", which the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung launched last autumn in collaboration with the EAF. Its goal was to foster exchange and networking between local female politicians and activists from Eastern Ukraine and Germany.

At the end of March, we held another Zoom conference with our partners, this time joined by our corporate partner, VW, and the head of their diversity department. The exchange was once again deeply intense and moving. Our partners reported from Lviv and Dnipro on their activities to support internally displaced persons and shared eyewitness accounts of crimes against civilians.

We are once again sharing the EAF appeal for donations to support our project partners and their exceptionally important and impressive humanitarian work on the ground. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has donated so far.

Finally, we are publishing a document on cross-border cooperation and solidarity for Ukraine. As part of the EU project "Mayoress," close ties have been established with partners in France, among others.
