EAF expert Lisa Hanstein is developing a specific workshop concept for unconscious bias and diversity in software development with the support of the EAF Berlin Friends Association.

In November 2021 and January 2022, she and Leah Hanraths at adesso mobile solutions successfully conducted an initial pilot:

In the internal deep-dive workshop on January 26, 2022, Leah Hanraths and Lisa Hanstein explored the development of more inclusive software and apps with the participants. The workshop focused on the background of non-inclusive IT products, self-reflection, and sharing experiences from daily project work. The second part of the workshop covered potential solutions and best practices throughout the software development process, as well as how to apply them to the participants' concrete work practices.

In the preceding interactive lecture Bits & Bias. Fewer unconscious biases for more diversity in software developmenton November 23, 2021, speaker Lisa Hanstein examined unconscious bias in IT with the audience. The lecture focused on teamwork, daily IT project work, HR, and the development of software and apps. Lisa Hanstein explained how unconscious biases form, raised awareness of personal biases, presented concrete examples from professional IT practice, and provided ideas for practical solutions.
