Kathrin Mahler Walther honored once again

The EAF Executive Director has taken the number one spot on the PROUT-in-SMEs list.

PROUT Performers are role models from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland who make a significant contribution to greater equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, intersex, and queer people in the workplace.

This is not the first time Kathrin Mahler Walther has been recognized for her commitment. In 2020, she was named one of GERMANY’S TOP 100 OUT EXECUTIVES, a selection of LGBT*IQ leaders dedicated to equality and diversity in the workplace.

The PROUTinSMEs list from the PROUT AT WORK-Foundation recognizes out LGBT*IQ leaders from small and medium-sized enterprises as well as other organizations such as associations or NGOs, who have a significant impact through their openness about their identity and their advocacy for LGBT*IQ issues.

We would like to congratulate Kathrin Mahler Walther on this fantastic achievement!

Femtec comes to an end—its impact lives on

For 25 years, Femtec has empowered women in STEM. With the dissolution of the GmbH at the end of April, an important chapter comes to a close – but the momentum, experience, and the powerful network of over 1,700 alumnae will continue to have an impact far beyond this moment. EAF Berlin co-founded Femtec with the Technical University of Berlin in 2001. We look back with joy and pride on more than two decades of successful and sustainable commitment alongside an extraordinary network of companies and universities.

New study reveals the extent and impact of sexism in the workplace

63 percent of employees in Germany have experienced sexism at work. The study, conducted by EAF Berlin as part of the "Together Against Sexism" alliance, shows that women and genderqueer individuals are primarily affected, while sexism is predominantly perpetrated by men. These experiences often lead to emotional and psychological distress and can negatively impact careers and financial situations.
