Compassion is as important as money

Our "Stand with Ukrainian Women - Winter Relief 2022" fundraising campaign raised around 16,000 euros and made a real difference.

We had the use of the 16,000 euros in donations for our "Together for Democracy" project documented on-site by our partners in eastern and southern Ukraine:

In Odesa , the women's organization "Diya" distributed essential medicines and several hundred first-aid kits to internally displaced persons from the Kherson region.

In Mykolaiv , a nursing home was equipped with a power generator. Hygiene products such as diapers were also purchased. Coolers were acquired for the local "Points of Invincibility" (public spaces equipped with heating, chargers, food, medicine, etc.).

In Dobroslav, a small community near Odesa, children of internally displaced persons were provided with tablets for online learning; in addition, materials for working with children and small Christmas surprises were purchased.

In Kirovohrad , tables for the children's area were purchased for newly established "Points of Invincibility," along with electric kettles, extension cords, and lanterns.

The community of Rohan in the Kharkiv district purchased fire extinguishers for social facilities and tool kits for ongoing repairs.

For a children's hospital in the region Dnipro a much-needed mobile X-ray unit was procured, and in Kramatorsk, a laptop for a hospital's first-aid station.

All our Ukrainian partners report that the recipients on the ground are not only grateful for the material aid, but are also touched that the donations come directly from caring people in Germany as a sign of personal solidarity. "Thank you for not growing weary of helping Ukraine," wrote the mayor of Dobroslav.
