Dr. Marc Gärtner
Social scientist, consultant and coach

Dr. Marc Gärtner is a social scientist, consultant and coach specializing in gender, organization and diversity. He works as a consultant for international gender equality policy at the Bundesforum Männer. Since 2001, he has been researching and advising German and international bodies in politics, business and society on issues of work and gender equality with a special focus on the role of men.

Since 2012, Marc Gärtner has been cooperating closely with EAF Berlin, among other initiatives in the projects “Career with Children” and “FleXship – Flexible Working Models for Managers”. He has held lectureships, seminars and research projects at the Berlin School of Economics and Law, Leibniz University Hanover, Catholic University Berlin and Bauhaus University Weimar, to name a few. As a science coach, he mentors students and aspiring scientists for the Hans Böckler Foundation.

Marc Gärtner studied social and cultural sciences in Marburg and Bremen. He received his doctorate from Freie Universität in 2011 with a thesis on the company conditions relating to working part-time and parental leave for men. He is co-founder of the advisory network genderWerk and has been closely associated with the research institute Dissens for many years.
