Advancing Women

European mentoring program for women at the start of their careers

The proven mentoring cooperation of Soroptimist International Germany with EAF Berlin was expanded to a European level in 2010 and successfully carried out twice with SI partner organizations from Sweden, Belgium and Luxembourg. In total, more than 50 women participated in the program. The international exchange and networking were found to be extremely valuable as well as giving participants access to Soroptimist International, the world’s largest service and networking organization for professional women. The program’s goal was to support women in their professional and personal development as well as to enhance their willingness to take on social responsibilities.

The “Advancing Women” project combined in-service mentoring – lasting several months in the various countries – with seminars on topics such as self-management, communication skills and career planning. The seminars were held with female trainers and experts experienced at working on the international level.
