We want to finally achieve full equality between men and women

In the third discussion regarding the Berlin Declaration, Federal Finance Minister Olaf Scholz advocates for gender parity in leadership positions.

To advance equality in all areas of society, various initiatives, associations, organizations, and cross-party parliamentarians joined forces in 2011, 2016, and 2017 to form the Berlin Declaration.

Through campaigns, discussions with top party politicians, open letters, and press releases, the Berlin Declaration draws attention to the lack of equality between women and men. Following talks with Ricarda Lang of Alliance 90/The Greens and Janine Wissler of The Left, the initiators of the Berlin Declaration also discussed their demands with SPD chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz. Regarding his party's equality policy goals, he stated:

"We want to finally complete the equality of women and men in Germany – for us, this is a matter of respect! With fair pay, 50 percent women in leadership positions, and an equitable division of tasks in work and family life."

In the coming weeks before the federal election on September 26, there will be further discussions with the CDU, FDP, and CSU.

The demands of the coalition, which includes the EAF Berlin, are:

1. Parity in all areas of society
2. Equal pay and equal conditions in the workplace
3. Equality as a guiding principle in all policy areas
4. A life free from violence for all women
