Kite app for female founders

The app allows female founders to practice typical situations in the startup process in a gamified way. EAF experts Lisa Hanstein and Hanna Völkle supported the development as part of the Kite project advisory board.

Starting a business is a challenge – and women often face unique hurdles along the way. In the Kite app's novels, they can prepare for startup situations in a playful way: talking to the bank, negotiating fees, or interacting with investors. Users test different reactions in realistic dialogues and receive AI-supported, strengths-based feedback rooted in expert knowledge.

EAF Berlin on the KITE advisory board

Lisa Hanstein and Hanna Völkle, both experts in equitable digitalization, serve on the Kite advisory board. The board supports the project with perspectives from the fields of female entrepreneurship, gender equality, and communication.

KITE is a research and transfer project by the Lab for Socio-Informatics at Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with the nationwide gründerinnenagentur (bga). Development was funded by the Federal Ministry of Education, Family, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMBFSFJ) as part of the "Artificial Intelligence for the Common Good" funding guideline.

Femtec comes to an end—its impact lives on

For 25 years, Femtec has empowered women in STEM. With the dissolution of the GmbH at the end of April, an important chapter comes to a close – but the momentum, experience, and the powerful network of over 1,700 alumnae will continue to have an impact far beyond this moment. EAF Berlin co-founded Femtec with the Technical University of Berlin in 2001. We look back with joy and pride on more than two decades of successful and sustainable commitment alongside an extraordinary network of companies and universities.

New study reveals the extent and impact of sexism in the workplace

63 percent of employees in Germany have experienced sexism at work. The study, conducted by EAF Berlin as part of the "Together Against Sexism" alliance, shows that women and genderqueer individuals are primarily affected, while sexism is predominantly perpetrated by men. These experiences often lead to emotional and psychological distress and can negatively impact careers and financial situations.
