The current legislation on the equal participation of women and men in leadership positions in the private and public sectors is intended to help significantly increase the proportion of women in management roles over the medium term and initiate a cultural shift within companies. The practical guide "Zielsicher – Mehr Frauen in Führung" provides information on how this can be achieved.
It summarizes the key points of the law and supports companies in developing and implementing company-specific targets. The practical guide provides quick and comprehensive answers to frequently asked questions from companies: How can targets for women in leadership positions be defined? What transparency is necessary to set realistic targets, and which internal departments should be involved in the goal-setting process? The guide also offers helpful advice on the structured communication of targets and deadlines. Furthermore, it focuses on key areas of action such as recruitment and development, performance-based compensation, flexible work organization, and balancing professional careers with family life. Companies such as Bayer, Commerzbank, Continental, and Deutsche Bahn share their experiences and initiatives.
The practical guide is an initiative of the "Zielsicher" program, which is being conducted by EAF Berlin in cooperation with KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft. As part of the program, innovative approaches and tools for increasing the number of women in leadership positions are being developed in collaboration with companies until the summer of 2017. To this end, companies affected by the legislation meet regularly in a B2B workshop series.
The program is funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) and the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection (BMJV).
