Democracy Needs Women supports women's political participation in Tunisia, with a primary focus on local government.

Since 2012, EAF Berlin has been active in Tunisia, supporting the country's democratization process through its "Democracy Needs Women" project. To mark the conclusion of the current project phase, EAF Berlin has published a brochure detailing its strategies, experiences, and results.

The project supports women's political participation, primarily at the local level, through networking, exchange, and the promotion of dialogue. The publication focuses on collaboration with five partner organizations in the regions of El Kef, Gafsa, Kairouan, Sfax, and Sousse. The initiatives and workshops conducted there serve as practical examples of how to engage and recruit women for political involvement.

From Elected to Threatened

The EAF Berlin study “From Elected to Threatened: Experiences of Female Members of the German Bundestag Regarding Violence against Women in Politics ” surveyed current and former members of the Bundestag and highlights how hate, incitement, and gender-based violence influence political work. It becomes clear that these attacks do not merely target individual female politicians; they endanger political participation and, consequently, democratic representation. The study was produced as part of the European project “3R—Recognize, Resist, Rise Up: Tackling Gender-Based Violence against Women in Politics.”

Sexismus am Arbeitsplatz

Die Studie liefert erstmals repräsentative, branchenübergreifende Daten zu Ausmaß, Erscheinungsformen und Folgen von Sexismus am Arbeitsplatz in Deutschland. Methodisch basiert sie auf einem Mixed-Methods-Ansatz, der quantitative Befragungsdaten mit qualitativen Tagebuchaufzeichnungen kombiniert. Durchgeführt wurde die Untersuchung von der EAF Berlin im Rahmen des vom Bundesministerium für Bildung, Familie, Senioren, Frauen und Jugend geförderten Projekts Bündnis „Gemeinsam gegen Sexismus“. Berücksichtigt wurden dabei neben Frauen und Männern ausdrücklich auch trans, inter und nicht-binäre Personen. Auf Grundlage der Studienergebnisse wurden konkrete Handlungsempfehlungen abgeleitet, wie staatliche Verantwortung, rechtliche Rahmenbedingungen und betriebliche Praxis stärker miteinander verzahnt werden können.
