Promoting flexibility and diversity
Project to improve career advancement opportunities for women in the automotive industry.
The project developed and tested life-phase-oriented flexible working models for employees in direct, production-related areas, including shift work, with the goal of improving work-life balance and gender equality. "Promoting Flexibility and Diversity" was conducted by EAF Berlin in collaboration with Volkswagen AG and funded under the program "Securing Skilled Workers – Further Education and Promoting Equality" by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the European Social Fund.
Specific project goals were:
- Establishing flexible working models in direct areas
- Improving work-life balance
- Fostering a collaborative work environment
- Improving career advancement opportunities for women
Following a conceptual phase, two pilot projects on flexible and family-friendly working models were conducted. These were prepared and supported by training measures such as workshops and coaching for various target groups (managers, employees, multipliers).
Good practice workshop
All measures were implemented with a focus on gender and diversity, aimed at overcoming stereotypical role patterns and fostering an appreciative work and team culture. A good practice workshop and a final conference were held to disseminate the results.
