Values-based work in mentoring

Your personal values have a major impact on your life. They contribute to a sense of fulfillment and happiness. When your private or professional life is in harmony with your individual values, you experience these situations much more positively. Conversely, contexts that do not align with your personal value system can lead to dissatisfaction, disappointment, or feelings of helplessness.
Therefore, identifying your own values can be helpful for personal development, especially during times of transition. Through self-reflection, you gain a new perspective on your current situation, achieve greater clarity regarding your needs, and can make more purposeful decisions as a result.
This can provide a solid foundation for mentees to take their next steps. As a mentor, you can guide the exploration of personal values, and as a coordinator, you could incorporate this topic into a workshop.
In this online seminar, Uta Menges will present:
- Insights into the meaning, origin, and benefits of values
- A practical exercise to identify your top 3 values
- Reflection using two value models
