Mayors' Conference 2024 via livestream
Women in local leadership positions remain significantly underrepresented in municipal authorities. The German Association of Towns and Municipalities, the Austrian Association of Municipalities, and the Swiss Association of Municipalities are working together with EAF Berlin to address this. The event is under the patronage of the spouses of the Federal Presidents, Elke Büdenbender (Germany) and Doris Schmidauer (Austria).
Following successful conferences in Vienna and Berlin the third Mayors' Conference 2024 will take place in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. The focus of the conference is on "Promoting New Talent and Political Participation." How can we successfully inspire more young people, and young women in particular, to get involved in local politics? What are the best paths and tools to achieve this?
By exchanging experiences regarding measures implemented in the scientific, political, and social spheres across the three countries, participants can identify paths and solutions for their own municipalities and regions. The goal is to learn from one another, highlight successful initiatives, and collectively send a strong signal for more women in local politics.
