75 Years of the Basic Law: Festival of Democracy and Exhibition Premiere

Federal Government Festival of Democracy

A colorful and varied program will take place around the Federal Chancellery and the Paul-Löbe-Haus of the German Bundestag, featuring contributions from all constitutional bodies, federal ministries, federal states, and numerous civil society institutions. The festival aims to foster dialogue with citizens on current issues regarding our life together in a free and democratic constitutional state.

Digital exhibition "Mothers of the Basic Law"

The digital exhibition "Mothers of the Basic Law" will premiere at the Festival of Democracy. It honors the contributions of the four women in the Parliamentary Council. Frieda Nadig, Elisabeth Selbert, Helene Weber, and Helene Wessel are the four mothers of the Basic Law. It is largely thanks to their efforts that the equality of women and men was enshrined in the Basic Law in 1949. The digital exhibition guides visitors through their political work and achievements, providing insight into the history of women's rights and the current state of gender equality.
