Resilient and visible – Empowering women in local politics
On November 28, 2025, the symposium "Resilient and Visible – Strengthening Women in Local Politics" will take place in Anklam from 12:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., featuring a workshop by Cécile Weidhofer, Director at EAF Berlin, among others.

The goal is to work together to develop strategies for strengthening the resilience, visibility, and political influence of women in local government.
Why you should attend
- Because women are still underrepresented in local politics—even though they make up half the population.
- Because political participation requires support, resources, and sometimes resilience.
- And because democratic diversity begins at the local level.
Program
- A practical, motivating keynote address by State Equal Opportunities Commissioner Wenke Brüdgam.
- Exchange, empowerment, and networking among peers.
- Three in-depth workshops on resilience, influence, and dealing with hostility:
- "Staying strong against the headwind": Resilience strategies for politically active women & dealing with hostility & hate speech - With DemokratieLaden Anklam | LpB MV
- "Politically effective in the council": Strategies for influence, visibility, and collaboration - With Cécile Weidhofer, Director at EAF Berlin & Project Lead for Frauen.Vielfalt.Politik.
- "Countering attacks": Responding confidently to sexism & anti-feminism in committees - With Romy Tölk and Anna Lisa Alsleben, Regional Center for Democratic Culture
