DGM Annual Mentoring Conference 2025

This year's Annual Mentoring Conference will feature a keynote by Prof. Dr. Julia Schorlemmer, member of the DGM Scientific Advisory Board, on the topic:
"Mentoring as a booster for mental health?! Between empowerment, potential, and pitfalls."
The event will continue with the presentation of the newly certified and re-certified mentoring programs. In addition, the Mentor of the Year 2025 (female and male) will be honored.

1:30 p.m.: Keynote: Mentoring as a booster for mental health?! Between empowerment, potential, and pitfalls - Is mentoring truly a booster for mental health? We will examine the multifaceted aspects of this relationship regarding mental health, well-being, and performance. We will address the following questions: Under what conditions are resilience and self-efficacy strengthened? When does mentoring (unintentionally) become an emotional challenge? And what role does setting and recognizing boundaries play?
A keynote that sharpens our focus on shared responsibility and paves the way for a mentally healthy and professional mentoring practice. With Prof. Dr. Julia Schorlemmer, member of the DGM scientific advisory board.
14:15: Workshop Session
- Shaping Mentoring – Challenges and further development using the Hertie Foundation as an example | Heike Fahrun and Maria Bramer: The Hertie Foundation provides insights into its practices, challenges, and innovative approaches to developing mentoring programs. In this workshop, we would like to engage in an exchange and share experiences and perspectives on effective mentoring.
- Supervision in Mentoring: Why mentors need space for themselves | Katja von Glinowiecki: Those who empower others need resources themselves. Space to think. A place where one's own role, impact, and questions have room. For quality. For mental health. For development. This workshop invites reflection and provides concrete ideas on how mentors can utilize this space for themselves.
- Mental Health in Mentoring – Joint reflection on boosters, pitfalls, and potential | Prof. Dr. Julia Schorlemmer: This workshop picks up on the questions raised in the keynote and explores them further through group discussion.
- What you don't see – and why it holds your team back: Experiencing leadership in diverse contexts | Prof. Dr. Susanne Schmidt: This workshop invites you to engage with your own blind spots. Through interactive exercises and reflection phases, you will gain insights for inclusive leadership behavior.
