Laura Giardina
Senior Expert
Laura Giardina works as a Senior Expert for the project Alliance "Together Against Sexism". Her responsibilities include project management, public relations, event organization, networking among alliance members, and the development of publications.
The project is a collaboration between EAF Berlin and the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, under the patronage of Minister Lisa Paus. Building on the "Joint Declaration against Sexism and Sexual Harassment" published in 2021, the alliance works with over 700 cross-industry partners to structurally dismantle sexism and sexual harassment in public spaces, in the workplace, and in culture and media.
Laura Giardina has professional experience in communications across agency, NGO, and corporate sectors. In 2018, she successfully completed a PR traineeship at a Berlin agency specializing in management consulting and communications, with a focus on association communications. During her studies, she worked for three years as a communications project manager for an NGO in the field of development cooperation.
In 2017, she completed her bachelor's degree at the University of Tübingen , where she studied sociology and public law, with a focus on social inequality and international law. During her studies, she was part of the founding group of the "Tübingen Human Rights Week," which has been held annually since 2015. During her master's degree in sociology at the University of Potsdam, her research focused on qualitative social research as well as family, gender, and labor market sociology. Her empirical master's thesis examined the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the work-life balance of working single parents in Germany.
