Navigating the crisis with confidence!

In this event, we will explore how women in politics can maintain their agency, especially under these circumstances:
- Madeleine Henfling, former member of the state parliament and Vice President of the Thuringian State Parliament, shares experiences from her political career, particularly regarding how to deal with anti-democratic forces and the growing pressure increasingly felt in local government spaces and committees.
- Daria Gladkov, manager at Consilium Rechtskommunikation, introduces the principles of effective crisis communication and decision-making during a crisis. Using practical examples, she also provides guidance on how external crisis communication works—from early warning signs to concrete immediate measures for emergencies.
The realities are diverse: for some, it is an acute crisis—a social media firestorm, a threatening letter, or an attack that requires immediate action. For others, it is the gradual erosion caused by a series of small incidents that, in their accumulation, drain energy and restrict room for maneuver. Often, it is a combination of both.
Afterward, there will be space for discussion and sharing personal strategies, as mutual support is also a key part of how female politicians can maintain their agency in the long term.

About the 3R Project
3R: Recognize, Resist, Rise Up is a project by EAF Berlin designed to support women in politics in dealing with hate speech, hostility, and anti-democratic attacks. The goal is to empower those affected, expand their scope of action, and highlight counter-strategies.
The project is funded by the European Commission and the Federal Ministry for Education, Family, Seniors, Women and Youth (BMBFSFJ).
