Why diversity surveys?
Many organizations have been implementing comprehensive diversity strategies for years and want to know how effective they are. Other organizations are just starting to develop a diversity strategy and want to include the perspectives of their employees.
With diversity surveys, we support research institutes, companies, foundations, political parties and media companies in developing and strategically embedding data-based measures, programs, offers and strategies relating to diversity and equal opportunities. The status quo is empirically documented using scientific standards and things are identified that have not yet been in focus or that lie “below the surface”.
We offer different methods, survey sizes and topics for your planned diversity survey:
- Methods: We work with numerous empirical survey methods, ranging from standardized quantitative surveys, qualitative interviews and focus group discussions to combined methods. Find out more about our methods here.
- Topics: Our diversity surveys cover various topics: The existing diversity in the workforce, employees' possible experiences of discrimination or whether planned measures are accepted. This can include questions to assess satisfaction with various aspects such as compatibility, development opportunities, diversity sensitivity and equal opportunities. Different groups within the workforce can also be considered separately.
- Scalable survey size: We create small, compact survey modules (pulse check) as well as comprehensive surveys with multi-part methods, surveying the entire workforce or specific target groups such as women, parents, people with disabilities or with experience of racism.
Our diversity surveys can be carried out at the beginning of a process as an inventory or during the process. We also offer evaluations of measures and programs, which you can find out more about here.
EAF Berlin combines extensive knowledge in the field of diversity with expertise in the area of research!
Our research team consists of experienced researchers with appropriate methodological training and many years of experience in empirical research. We regularly conduct surveys in the field of diversity, equity and inclusion, on experiences of discrimination and as support in the development of measures for various clients, such as political parties, companies or media houses. We not only pay attention to WHAT we ask, but also HOW we ask it in order to collect valid and meaningful data. We also know how to carefully address sensitive topics or questions about diversity characteristics. As an external service provider, we ensure the highest possible level of anonymity in our surveys, which is not possible to the same extent in a survey conducted internally within an organization. This not only increases trust, but also motivates more people to take part, meaning that high participation rates can often be achieved. We carry out all projects in compliance with the GDPR and in close coordination with our partners' data protection officers. EAF Berlin also has many years of research expertise in the field of women's engagement in politics.
