The EAF Berlin regularly runs the mentoring program “Career with Children” (CwC) at Deutsche Telekom AG. It focuses primarily on the early family phase - also for managers. The program supports parents in their careers and promotes the acceptance of a career-oriented personnel policy. The EAF supports 25 mentees and their mentors over a period of 18 months with needs-oriented workshops and networking events.
In concrete terms, this means that managers are made aware that flexible working models can also be implemented in management positions.
This makes a significant contribution to cultural change and increases the proportion of women in management positions. At the same time, the professional development of female and male junior managers in the early family phase is specifically promoted:
- Process support in mentoring: The mentees and mentors receive regular support in their respective roles and methodical support in their tandem work
- Training for mentees: Whether acquiring skills in parenthood, tips for better visibility or flexible working time models - we tailor the training content to the needs of the target group.
- Reconciling work and family life
- Performance skills
- Strengthen your strengths!
- Network maintenance: Networking events promote the exchange between alumni of the program and enable the maintenance and expansion of the CwC community.
By 2024, over 100 mentees and 100 mentors had become part of the CwC community in 5 rounds.
Target group:
- Female and male junior managers who are shortly before, during or shortly after parental leave (in the early family phase)
- The environment of the junior managers - superiors, HR managers, other managers, interest groups, etc. - is included in a network meeting
