Dr Marc Gärtner is a social scientist, consultant and coach with a focus on gender, organization and diversity. He works as a social scientist at the Institute for Gender Studies in Graz. Since 2001 he has been researching and advising German and international actors in politics, business and society on issues of work and gender equality with a special focus on the role of men.
Since 2012 Marc Gärtner cooperates closely with the EAF Berlin, e.g. in the projects "Careers with Children" and "FleXship - Flexible Work Models for Executives". Teaching assignments, seminars and research projects he led e.g. at the University of Economics and Law Berlin, the Leibniz University Hannover, the Catholic University Berlin and the Bauhaus University Weimar. As a science coach he accompanies students and (young) scientists, e.g. for the Hans Böckler Foundation.
Marc Gärtner studied Social and Cultural Studies in Marburg and Bremen. He earned his doctorate in 2011 at the Freie Universität Berlin with a thesis on the working conditions of partial and parental leave of men. He is co-founder of the genderWerk consultancy network and closely associated with the Dissens Research Institute over many years.
